Details Posted: 04-May-24 Location: St. Cloud, Minnesota Salary: Open Internal Number: 2305 Location: St. Cloud, MN Full/Part Time: Full Time Employment Condition: Unlimited Job Description: The Vice President of Advancement ( VPA ) stewards the college's foundation, innovation, business partnerships, public and government relations, and grants in alignment with its mission, vision, and strategic goals. The VPA provides oversight for fund development through relationships and grants, community, and government. The VPA directs all aspects the St. Cloud Technical & Community College Foundation to advance philanthropy and fundraising in support of the college mission and student success. This is a senior leadership, cabinet-level position that reports directly to the president. The VPA collaborates with other college and business leaders on a diverse range of college-wide plans, projects, and initiatives; serves on a variety of committees and work groups; and may serve as the president's designated representative of the college in community and public settings. 1. Serves as the Executive Director of the St. Cloud Technical & Community College Foundation and works with the Board of Directors and College Leadership to oversee all aspects of the College Foundation organizational operations. 2. Serves as an ambassador in support of the mission, vision and values of St. Cloud Technical & Community College and the St. Cloud Technical & Community College Foundation, and plays an integral role in increasing philanthropic support through building authentic relationships with friends and alumni of the College. 3. Support and contribute meaningfully to furtherance of the college's Strategic Framework, advancing equity in student outcomes and the campus climate, and modeling practices that promote equity, inclusion, and belonging. 4. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a related field - Minimum of 4-6 years of executive level experience in business or non-profit management and fundraising, or experience in securing financial and relational support (i.e. fundraising and friend-raising) for programs or projects is essential. - Experience in working with executive level management to develop strategic plans and implement operational and administrative actions. - A high level of customer-based relationship developmental skills, entrepreneurial spirit, strong verbal and writing skills, superior organizational and administrative skills. - Ability to identify funding opportunities and successfully secure donations and other support. - Ability to articulate programmatic and fundraising goals and relate those goals to college strategic goals and academic programming needs. - Knowledge of financial statements and the ability to articulate financial information to constituents. - Ability to prepare budgets, manage donor stewardship and gifts, and adhere to board policy. - Demonstrated ability to make data-informed, equity-minded, and independent decisions, including those regarding sensitive and confidential matters. - Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with people from a variety of backgrounds, and exceptional written, oral, and public speaking skills. - Knowledge of and commitment to the mission and values of a community college, with experience in fundraising, donor and industry relations, and grant work. - Working knowledge of key state and federal laws and regulations governing nonprofit and public sector organizations. Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in a related field. - Ability to connect with diverse stakeholders, including leaders of both emerging organizations and foundational community institutions. - Experience in higher education a plus. - Knowledge of higher education issues and the ability to relate those issues to governmental, corporate, and philanthropic communities in Minnesota. - Knowledge of and skill in identifying, researching, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts and planned gifts, and conducting fundraising campaigns. - Knowledge of the interrelationships of the local economy, government, college, and community. - Knowledge of and success in-fund development, financial reporting, marketing, and grant-writing. - Ability to direct research and prepare reports on donor potential, alumni data, Board recruitment and retention, marketing opportunities, e3xternal communications, and fiscal matters. Other Requirements: Some overnight travel and frequent evening and weekend activities.
