Paramount Center for the Arts 913 West St. Germain Street, St. Cloud, MN 56301 Theater Technician Job Description Position Theater Technician Reports To: Technical Director Hours: Varies, shows are generally on evenings and weekends; weekday work may also be required. Job Summary: Responsible for accommodating performers with sound, lights, and stage assistance. Job Duties include, but not limited to: • load ins/outs • stage direction • fly system/basic rigging • spotlight operation • stage maintenance • light system control and design principles • sound system control and design Supervisory Responsibilities: • This position has no staff supervisory responsibilities but may occasionally be required to supervise volunteers Education/Previous Experience • High School diploma is preferred but not required. • Experience is preferred but not required. Will train. Skills Required • Ability to establish and maintain effective, pleasant, and respectful relationships with staff and performing artists, including local rental groups and national touring groups. • Must have the physical and mental capabilities to perform the job, which include: interpersonal skills, communication skills, attention to detail and following directions, ability to lift and carry 20-50lbs, comfortable working at heights (focusing lights and operating the fly system). • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance. • Willingness to learn and be flexible with tasks requested. Wage: Starting at $16/hour. Higher rates available for those with proven skills and experience.
