Summer Internship Location: Guardian Angels Senior Services Job ID: 2670 Benefits to Working at GA: - 10 Holidays - Monthly Wellness Initiatives - Employee Support Program - Collaborative Work Environment - Supportive Team Culture - Free Gym Membership – Club GA & Gym 365 Schedule: - Summer Internship – Memorial Day to Labor Day - 10am - 2pm Schedule - Monday - Friday Position Summary: The Intern position is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in providing support and assistance to residents while learning about the operations of an assisted living community. This internship offers exposure to various aspects of resident care, customer service, and community engagement. Services are provided in accordance with the mission of Guardian Angels. Job Duties: - Shadow departmental leads to learn about the functions of each department within the assisted living communities. - Escort residents to activities and various events. Maintain knowledge of community events and activities, providing information and assistance to residents and guests as needed. - Learn about community resources available to residents, assist with inquiries, and provide information on amenities and activities. - Provide companionship and engage in meaningful interactions with residents, promoting their well-being and socialization. - Respond to call lights and assist residents as necessary. - Support various departments, including Culinary, Housekeeping, and Life Enrichment as needed. - Assist the Administrators with tasks and projects as assigned. - To assist in providing a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents. - Follows universal precautions, facility infection control guidelines, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities. - All duties will be performed in accordance with current standards, guidelines, state and federal regulations. - Uphold confidential information as required by Guardian Angels Care Center policy and procedure and as related to HIPPA. - Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Guardian Angels of Elk River. Qualifications: - Current college or high school student with an interest in senior health care. - Self-motivated, ability to prioritize. - Excellent verbal and written (read, write) communication skills. - Self-motivated, ability to prioritize. - Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
