Student Relations, Experiential Learning and Outreach Director | St. Cloud Shines
Job Description The purpose of the Student Relations, Experiential Learning and Outreach Director (SR/ ELOD ) is to develop and assess effective strategies to improve the experiences and successes of students within the College. The position is a resource to both students and faculty in the areas of recruitment and retention; general advising; student complaints; student conduct; academic petitions; and internship/experiential learning administration. The position is designed to provide recommendations and innovative solutions to solve complex student issues. This position will also develop and maintain relationships with external partners which may contribute to student success, student recruitment and retention, and community engagement. - Coordinate general academic advising activities and actively partner with faculty/staff in various departments, programs, and university units to support students and foster student success - Manage student conduct issues, student complaints, student petitions, and student appeals to advance the student experience; prepare and archive documents relative to the decision-making process and outcome - Develop, support, and assess initiatives designed to increase recruitment and retention for the School and its programs to support program and School growth/sustainability - Manage student internship/experiential learning processes and opportunities to enrich the student experience and ensure compliance of all regulations, requirements, and accreditation standards - Maintain and develop community partnerships for service-learning, internship, experiential learning, or other beneficial partnerships to provide students with relevant, professional development experience - Serve as a liaison/resource to the College and the University to ensure consistent and appropriate implementation of relevant policies, procedures, and practices - Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications - Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., College Counseling and Student Development, Higher Education, Student Affairs) and a minimum of one year professional experience in advising, student affairs, and/or student recruitment and retention or Bachelor’s degree plus two years of professional experience in advising, student affairs, and/or student recruitment and retention - Demonstrated ability to engage in the best practices and procedures of student advising/counseling and higher education administration - Demonstrated skills in collaborating with multiple functional areas to advance student success - Demonstrated excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills - Demonstrated skill in writing concise, accurate, and professional reports - Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills including data interpretation - Demonstrated skills in working with diverse student and employee populations - Valid U.S. Driver’s License Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of the theoretical principles of advising/counseling and higher education - Three or more years professional work experience at a state college or university in student counseling and/or higher education administration - Demonstrated ability to effectively create and deliver professional presentations for large and diverse groups - Demonstrated ability to work professionally with varied external organizations/entities Other Requirements Benefits Info GREAT BENEFITS PACKAGE !
