Job Details Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities : - Perform temporary job OK’s and job sample checks for Stitcher operations. - Operate machine at estimated speeds as needed (a thorough understanding of production run speeds). - Inspect cost center processes to determine that they are done properly and quality standards are followed. - Assist operator with training and motivating employees to adequately operate equipment. - Anticipate and troubleshoot problems. - Read and understand postal specs and be able to follow the sign-off. - Complete sortation training and understand bagging requirements. - Learn, understand, and follow all established processes associated with the operations of the Inkjet Controller all in-line equipment. - Perform Helper duties, including setting up stations, sortation, and bagging requirements. - Assist with the setup of machine in the correct manner and assure that the job is lined up and measured correctly according to job ticket and dylux. - Double-check all aspects of the job before running, especially between lifts. - Perform quality checks needed hourly and daily as per machine process. - Install/change punches. - Assist in the teaching and training of basic operation and troubleshooting of Stitcher. - Change/replace eyelets in punch. - Perform M/R proficiently, pockets, stitcher heads, 445 trimmer, and cover feeder, etc. - Repair and rebuild stitcher heads. - Change knives on trim system proficiently. - Adjust/change gathering chain. - Read and understand job ticket. - Complete all paperwork and use timekeeping system efficiently. - Perform 6S audits and have equipment 6S compliant by shifts end. - Assist in other areas as needed. - Communicate with next shift about status of job(s) and any special instructions. - Maintain a clean and organized area/department. - Be cooperative, positive, and respectful with leader, coworkers and team. - Ensure all safety policies are followed and hold a high regard for the safety of others. - Participate in proper ergonomic practices as designed for this position. - Aggressively seek out opportunities for company and self-improvement. - Schedule all outside activities around work schedule when possible and work overtime as needed. - Responsible for informing leader of any concerns that arise. - Understand and complete MDI sheets for your equipment. - Participate and support continuous improvement activities. - Participate in 6S/Lean manufacturing initiative. - Other duties may be assigned. Skills and/or Knowledge: 1. Ability to operate secondary piece of equipment preferred. 2. Inkjet controller knowledge preferred. 3. Knowledge of procedures in other departments (Press, Direct Mail, Shipping/Receiving, Distribution, etc.). 4. Knowledge of Finishing equipment, materials, and products. 5. Computer experience. 6. Ability to coach and train. 7. Good leadership skills. 8. Good communication skills (written, verbal, and listening). 9. Physical effort - refer to physical demand analysis.
