The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Responsibilities - Take part in various department-wide initiatives - Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management - Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner - Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision - Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed - Maintain monthly payment schedules - Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP - Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation - Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases - Spreadsheet and database capabilities - SAP experience preferred - Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience - Strong familiarity with Income Statements - Adeptness in journal entries - Comprehensive knowledge of Monthly Financial Statements - Demonstrated knowledge of Adjusting Journal Entries - Experience with financial analysis - General familiarity with month end closings - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges - Strong attention to detail - Experience with ERP systems - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment - Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills - 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience - Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required - Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines Report this job
