A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. - Plans, directs, and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of new combination products with specific focus on process development activities. - Manages a team of engineers focused on process development, equipment design and acquisition, and the establishment of efficient production lines that meet the needs of Operations. - May develop, evaluate, implement, and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products - Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies - Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes, or products - Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release - Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended - Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development - Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery - Implements new product launches and product design changes - Executes on process improvements and remediation work for existing products at site. - Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function - Accountable for mentoring, developing, and coaching staff, defining staff objectives, and working with program managers to define priorities for staff Must Have: Minimum Requirements - Bachelors degree required - Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience Nice to Have - Experience in medical device or pharmaceutical - Experience directly leading and managing a team of engineers in the planning and execution of projects - Experience in the design and specification of automated and high-volume manufacturing equipment - Understanding of a wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts of manufacturing processes including robotics, spraying systems, and laser cutting - Work experience with the following: FDA Quality System Regulations, ISO 13485, ISO 9001 standards or equivalent - Strong communications and project management skills - Experience handling multiple projects with different stakeholders concurrently About Medtronic Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
