School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) – Elk River, MN

Make a meaningful impact by providing 1:1 nursing care to a middle school student with specialized medical needs in a supportive school environment. This contract opportunity offers a chance to apply your clinical skills while working closely with education professionals and families to ensure the student receives the best possible care. Key Qualifications: - Current and valid Minnesota LPN license - Active CPR and AED certification - At least 2 years of hands-on experience with pediatric patients or students - Demonstrated expertise in tracheostomy care and suctioning - Experience in school, pediatric, or home health settings strongly preferred - Ability and willingness to accompany the student on the school bus to and from home - Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach - Reliable documentation practices and attention to detail Your Role: - Deliver individualized nursing care and supervision for a 7th grade student throughout the school day - Monitor and perform tracheostomy care and suctioning according to the healthcare plan - Follow, implement, and document the student’s care as detailed in their individualized healthcare plan - Ride the bus with the student as part of their transportation needs - Actively participate with the Health Services team, school staff, and the student’s family to support the student’s education and well-being - Maintain thorough daily records of care, interventions, and observations - Provide high-level support tailored to a student with complex medical and developmental needs This position runs through the academic year—37.5 hours per week in line with the school calendar.
