Job Details Description POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for developing, growing and servicing small business administration (SBA) relationships that include loan and deposit accounts with new and existing businesses. Creates sales opportunities and partners with others to cross sell appropriate business products and services and increase membership. Responsible for pre-flighting and structuring SBA transactions, along with working with the Credit team to complete underwriting, and working with the Loan Processors to close SBA accounts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Establishes a strong referral network and relationships with commercial real estate brokers, loan brokers, CPAs, accountants, lawyers etc. to solicit new SBA loan leads. - Works directly with medium and moderately complex SBA loans. Makes credit decisions within lending authority and provides recommendations on loans above lending authority. - Oversees the SBA Loan Sales process while maintaining excellent communication between internal staff, borrowers, referral partners and Ultum Lender Service Provider (LSP) clients, as applicable. - Interviews members applying for SBA and other third party sponsored programs loans, deposits and services. Makes decisions within authority and provides recommendations and or referrals when appropriate. - Reviews financial information with member (concerns, strengths, weaknesses). - Works with the credit function to complete credit presentations, financial analysis and risk ratings on existing and prospective credits. - Responsible for preparation of commitment letters and adverse action documentation. - Performs loan closings with borrowers, ensuring all paperwork is properly completed and complies with legal regulations and the policies of Magnifi Financial and/or Ultum Group Clients. - Assists the SBA Servicing Department with collections/negotiations on problem member commercial loans. - Recommends, educates and sells products and services to members. Expands member relationships through follow-up activities to include outbound calls. Makes referrals to appropriate departments to ensure all member needs are met. - Develops and maintains a moderately complex commercial deposit, loan and services portfolio that meets organizational guidelines and maximizes return on equity and asset goals, while minimizing the risk to Magnifi Financial. - Contributes to the company’s overall production, portfolio performance and reputation while striving to meet or exceed individual goals. - Keeps abreast of the SBA rules, regulations and Magnifi Financial policy relating to member commercial loan and deposit accounts. - Promotes and participates in educational opportunities in SBA lending among colleagues, borrowers and the community. - Assists in training and mentoring less experienced SBA staff. - Recommends and assists with departmental process improvement initiatives. - Actively participates in community relations efforts to contribute to the mission and visibility of Magnifi Financial. Ensures positive relationships with members, community leaders and businesses. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or Finance plus eight years commercial lending or credit experience in a financial institution; or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through a minimum of ten years related lending experience. Five years of experience working with SBA loans, as well as community development lending, traditional and alternative loan programs. The Benefits We are committed to investing in our team!
