The Residential Life & Housing Department at the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) invites applications for a full-time (.92 FTE), benefit eligible position of Residence Director. In support of the four-year residential experience at the College of Saint Benedict (CSB), the Residence Director (RD) is responsible for creating a supportive environment in a campus residential area that promotes the values and practices of Catholic, Benedictine living with an intentional focus on the development of women. The RD serves as a mentor, resource person, and role model to residents and student staff members. The Residence Director is responsible for implementing the residential experience in their area, including facilitation of hall/area programming, training and supervision of resident assistants or community advisors, and community development. Responsibilities Develop a residential community-focused environment using developmental theories, community models, and Benedictine Values, which encourages personal growth of students. Supervise, train and evaluate student staff. Administer and interpret the student conduct process for residents in the area utilizing an educational and developmental approach. Implement departmental residential curriculum through comprehensive programming, cohort-based learning, campus partner collaboration, and integration of learning outcomes and assessment plans. Execute departmental projects and initiatives including advising, staff selection, and training. Serve in an on-call rotation (approximately once every 6-7 weeks) to provide after-hours support and crisis response, which may include hospital visits. Support and assist with the overall Residential Life and Housing operations. Work in partnership with other college constituencies to provide quality service to students.
