This position involves oversight of several departments within the City of St. Cloud, Minnesota. The Public Services Director is an executive leadership role responsible for overseeing the operations and staff within the Public Services Section, which includes the Engineering, Public Works, and Public Utilities Departments. This position provides strategic direction and leadership to ensure the delivery of innovative, high-quality, cost-effective services to the city's residents and customers. Key Responsibilities : Development of priorities for new and existing activities within the section: Evaluate services, present information to City Administration, provide administrative direction, develop policy. Leadership and development: Development of section leadership, provide mentorship, hiring and retention of team members. Financial responsibilities: Provide oversight of section payroll, budget, financial records, enterprise and general funds. Public relations: Build working relationships, serve as Public Information Officer, conduct presentations Emergency response: Serve as a key Emergency Response Coordinator for City. To learn more about the City of St. Cloud community, visit the Community Profile Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, environmental or related field; Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, infrastructure design and operation and management energy, water, wastewater, stormwater, hydroelectric operations; at least five (5) years must be at asupervisory level; Must have a valid driver’s license. License must be unrestrictedexcept for corrective lenses; Must have or obtain at least a Minnesota Class C Water, Wastewater Operator license, SA Collection License or equivalent within eighteen (18) months of hire; Must have or obtain Class A license for Water and Wastewater Operator license or SA Collection License at the minimum timingallowed by Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and Minnesota Department of Health certification guidelines; Thorough knowledge and experience in the application of modern principles and practices of administration as applied topublic works, stormwater management, design, construction, operation and maintenance of hydroelectric, water treatment, and wastewater treatment facilities and related water distribution and sanitary and stormwater collection systems.
