Job Details Job Location Shepherd of Grace - Becker, MN Position Type Part-time Education Level None Travel Percentage None Job Shift Day Shift Job Category Restaurant - Food Service Description JOB FUNCTION Assist with meal preparation, transportation, and kitchen clean-up after each meal. RESPONSIBILITIES Promotes Good Shepherd’s Customer Care Standards of Service, Compassion, Trust, and Respect each day; W.O.W. customers in the manner you are trained. Excellent Customer Care is an expectation and all staff are empowered to do everything in your power to make sure that everyone including residents, tenants, families, guests, and co-workers are treated with excellence. Assists cook with meal preparation as assigned. Assists in food preparation for special meals for catered events. Assists cook with verifying food needs match prep sheet, menu, and meal counts. Assists in checking food quality and temperature for accuracy before distribution. Assists Cook in getting Daily Menu Counts and Prep according to the counts. Communicates with cook about daily direction, assignments, and other work if prep is complete. Assists with updating marker boards and menu boards for tenants, meal order binders, etc. Transports food from main kitchen to dining rooms on campus in a safe manner. Responsible for communicating with the kitchen staff regarding customer needs, including but not limited to additional quantities of food and/or supplies. Cleans and sanitizes all aspects of kitchen Washes dishes and serving/cooking equipment and puts away in their proper place. Follows departmental procedures to meet sanitation guidelines. Cleans up food production areas, including cooks’ equipment, storage areas, serving carts, and other equipment when used. Follows hand washing procedures. Washes surfaces including: countertops, shelving, floors, walls, etc. Labels and dates food items, sorting in appropriate areas. Stores and stacks food following department policy. Disposes food and waste in accordance to established policies. Reports daily on supplies needed, equipment damage/broken, and safety concerns. Fosters a safe, positive, team-oriented atmosphere in the department. Works cooperatively with other departments, tenants, families, and staff to fill expressed needs. Demonstrates participation in staff meetings and educational and safety programs, including all mandatory facility in-services. Identifies and seeks opportunities for self and staff growth, when appropriate. Qualifications Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing. Previous experience in food preparation and serving preferred. Ability to work as a team member and resolve problem situations constructively. Experience working with seniors preferred. One year of Instructional Food Service or equivalent food prep/cooking experience. Basic math and computer skills.
