NPI Engineer

Position Summary The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer is responsible for bringing a product from quote, to process development, and then into production manufacturing. In order to achieve this goal, the NPI Engineer will interact with engineering and manufacturing teams through the life cycle of the product. The NPI Engineer will also work with the sales and customer teams to improve designs and processes. The NPI Engineer will coordinate the development of a lean manufacturing process and standard operating procedures within the engineering department. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for assigned product/process development through the early phases of the product life cycle Collaborate with the customer and provide manufacturability feedback Coordinate NPI functions within the engineering department and a cross-functional team Develop key process variables for machining and secondary operational processes Develop process BOO/BOM structures within the ERP system Assist with the creation of NPI control plan, PFMEA, qualification, and GR&R activities Responsible for the first run manufacturing process and key process output variable success Design, document, and improve developed processes, procedures, and work instructions Create and execute engineering tests Assist in the development of CNC toolpath design and CNC programming methodology Design tools, fixtures, and part work-holding Assist with all costing and quoting functions All other duties as assigned
