HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT The Certified Peer Specialist is an active member of an evidenced-based clinical team, providing medically necessary treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to identified recipients with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). - Functions as a role model to peers; exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills - Works with clients and other treatment staff to develop a treatment/recovery plan based on each client’s identified goals - Assists clients in developing empowerment skills and combating through self-advocacy - Serves as a consumer advocate, providing consumer information and peer support for clients in outpatient and inpatient settings Job_requirement : WHAT YOU’LL NEED - High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. - The Mental Health Practitioner shall meet the qualifications defined in Minnesota Statute 245.462, subdivision 17. - Successful completion of the Minnesota Department of Health and Human Service approved Certified Peer Specialist training and certification exam. - Have or had a primary diagnosis of mental illness. - Be a current or former consumer of mental health services. - Clear DHS background study and sexual exploitations screening.
