JOB SUMMARY: As the Manual Booth operator, You ll be responsible for operating the SB0038 Sand Blast machine, processing granite stone for facing and head treatments, rubbing, texturing, lettering, and carving according to design and production ticket specifications. WHAT YOU LL BE DOING: Reading and understanding production tickets to verify order details Using an overhead crane to move granite stone to the blasting booth cart Inspecting the stone for defects before and after each process step Operating the manual blasting booth by holding and controlling a hose connected to a pressurized air tank that blasts abrasive onto the granite stone Monitoring the stone during the blasting process to meet design and production ticket specifications Removing stencils and washing stones after the blasting process is complete; you ll be using solvents and high-pressure water as needed Scanning bar codes on production tickets with appropriate codes to register work completed in the JDE system Performing multi-process treatments as required SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: Must obtain forklift certification; training and certification provided by Coldspring Must pass breathing test to wear a respirator mask with supplied air Have the ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another, to avoid interruptions in production Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with an emphasis on time management, improving efficiencies Ability to determine work priority and urgency Good with tools and machinery Have math skills Must be able to read work orders or production tickets, which may include dimensional drawings MAKE YOUR MARK.
