External Description Str : Full-time 80 hours every 2 weeks | Mon-Fri 8a-5p | Hybrid of in-office (St. Cloud MN) and at-home work Job Summary: Incumbent manages the organization's cost accounting and service line financial decision support services. Individual leads team that ensures accuracy of data and financial reports while continuously improving granularity and sophistication of costing data. Individual interfaces with other finance teams to ensure alignment and consistency of data and information. Individual promotes the usage of costing data and service line financials in decision making. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates family centered care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers. Experience & Education: - Bachelor's degree in accounting or business related field from an accredited college or university is required. - Minimum of 2 years of Financial systems management and Cost accounting and decision support system experience. - Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred. - Supervisory experience preferred. Core Functions: - Manages and is accountable for the services and functions performed for CentraCare cost accounting / decision support system. - Creates and manages plan to continuously improve level of cost accounting granularity and accuracy. - Manages service line definitions to ensure alignment with various constituents. - Primary liaison with decision support software supplier to ensure optimization of software. - Responsible for managing the preparation and distribution of service line and patient level financial reports. - Responsible for working with CentraCare IT to manage Epic data feeds and data reconciliation into costing system to ensure accurate reporting. - Works closely with financial support services and financial planning & analysis teams to ensure alignment and consistency of data and information. - Leads educational/training initiatives to continuously improve organization’s understanding of financial decision support. - Develops long and short-term goals for areas of responsibility, in conjunction with strategic plan in response to customer needs. Facilities achievement of goals through continuous process and procedure improvement. - Leads staff in completing month end reconciliation and reporting for leadership. - Produces and distributes financial data, reports and analysis for leadership and actively works to develop acumen for service line leaders to allow better decision making.
