Job Details Job Location Good Shepherd Lutheran Home - Sauk Rapids, MN Position Type Full-time Education Level None Travel Percentage Occasional Job Shift Day Shift Job Category Installation - Maint - Repair JOB FUNCTION Responsible for building/physical plant maintenance including plumbing, boiler maintenance and mechanical and structural repairs. RESPONSIBILITIES Promotes Good Shepherd’s Customer Care Standards of Service, Compassion, Trust, and Respect each day; W.O.W. customers in the manner you are trained. Building Maintenance: HVAC: Assures that all HVAC systems are operating properly and efficiently. Maintains boilers and conducts daily and weekly boiler checks Preventative Maintenance: Assures that preventative maintenance is performed/completed on the facility and equipment. Building and Equipment Repairs/Services: Assures that repairs are completed as needed or requested on a timely basis. Maintenance of Work and Storage Areas: Assures that various work and storage rooms, garage/sheds, tools, and supplies are organized and clean. Interior Wall Surface Maintenance: Assures that walls are properly painted, patched, or repaired. Exterior Building Surface Maintenance: Assures that exterior building surfaces and window frames are properly painted and maintained. 3. Grounds Maintenance: Lawn Care and Landscaping: Assures that lawns and exterior plantings are properly maintained. Sidewalks and Parking Lots: Assures that sidewalks and parking lots are well marked, and kept free of debris, snow, and ice. Exterior Furnishings/Fixtures: Assures that exterior furniture, lightning, flags, and signs are clean and properly maintained. Assures lawn irrigation is properly maintained. Makes repairs as necessary. 4. Regulatory Management: Assures that the facility is compliant with all appropriate regulatory agencies. (OSHA, Life Safety Code, etc.) Notifies supervisor of noncompliance issues 5. Performs additional tasks as assigned by department supervisor. ATTENDANCE Maintains proper attendance and punctuality to help ensure Good Shepherd is operated in an efficient and effective manner. Maintains proper attendance in accordance with Good Shepherd’s policy. Reports to work on time in accordance with Good Shepherd’s policy. Provides adequate notice to supervisory personnel before absence or lateness in accordance with department policy. SAFETY Maintains and promotes a safe work environment. Demonstrates understanding of and ability to follow infection control, safety, and emergency policy and procedures. Refer to/review emergency preparedness manual and infection control policies. GENERAL Displays positive work habits that improve productivity of employees and function. Demonstrates willingness to accept new projects or assignments. Willingly assists other co-workers. Adheres to Good Shepherd’s dress code policy. Work center is organized and neat at all times. Plans daily workload to insure tasks completed. Open to new projects/assignments as identified. QUALIFICATIONS Current Minnesota 2 nd class (C) engineer’s license or special engineer’s license, with continued employment contingent upon a Minnesota 2 nd class engineer’s license within 13 months of employment. If employee does not have either a current Minnesota 2 nd class (C) or a Special engineer license upon hire, they must be able to obtain a Special engineer license within 90 days of hire in order to stay in the Maintenance Engineer position and continued employment will be contingent upon a Minnesota 2 nd class engineers license being obtained within 13 months from the date the Special engineer license was obtained. General knowledge of plumbing, surface preparation for concrete and painting, carpentry, woodworking, mechanical repairs, refrigeration, pneumatics, and light electrical repairs. Must live within a 30 minute response time to the Sauk Rapids Good Shepherd campus. Must have a current, valid Driver’s License with no driving violations within the standards of Good Shepherd’s insurability programs.
