nTYPE OF POSITION: nMonday-Friday, 6:00-2:30 nHours may vary based on program needs n nREPORTS TO: nDirector of Building and Grounds n nSUPERVISION: nTemporary summer support staff, snow removal support staff n nQUALIFICATIONS: nRequired - High school diploma or equivalent n - Class B license with Air Brake Endorsement n nPreferredn - Two years job related experience n - Certification in horticulture or landscaping n n nPOSITION SUMMARY: nThe Lead Groundskeeper will be responsible for performing ongoing landscaping tasks, as well as routine maintenance of all equipment; the Lead Groundskeeper will serve as the main point of contact for all Grounds issue across the district. n nSALARY: n$17.20/hr (starting salary for new hires) n nAPPLICATION PROCESS: nOnline application, www.isd742.org ; please attach documentation supporting required license and/or certificate n nESSENTIAL DUTIES: n GROUNDS nCustomer Support - Assist in the implementation and follow through of snow removal, grass cutting, athletic field marking, asphalt repairs/striping, and maintenance of related equipment n - Assist building administrators and other support staff in scheduling and/or setting up for athletic events, and other special tasks as assigned by building administrator n - Collaborate with teachers and support personnel for the purpose of assisting in the mission of the school district n - Assist in the implementation and follow through on projects assigned in buildings during slow work days and rain days n nDirect Servicen - Perform daily cleaning (trash), mowing, raking leaves, removing snow and ice around buildings and at athletic facilities including playgrounds n - Performs small landscaping projects as assigned n - Performs maintenance/repair of equipment under their care n - Operate and repair underground irrigation systems n - Deliver gas to other buildings as needed n - Performs licensed herbicide and pesticide applications n - Installs and repairs exterior fencing n nAdministrative Supportn - Maintains records for inventory, gas usage, snow removal contacts, and corrective/preventive maintenance n - Maintains accurate records of exterior lighting lamps, underground irrigation line/head locations n n LEADERSHIP nCustomer Support - Coordinate with district trades and grounds personnel to take care of building exterior and grounds n - Supervise temporary summer support staff and snow removal support staff n nDirect Servicen - Coordinate with outside contractors regarding all buildings/grounds work n - Takes care of ordering and installing signs as needed n nAdministrative Supportn - Oversees grounds construction projects, landscape installations, and rain & pollinator gardens n - Oversees grounds maintenance work (snow plowing, salting, mowing, trimming, field marking, irrigation systems, aerating, seeding, fertilizing, weed control, etc.) n - Facilitates an equipment preventative maintenance program and recommends supplies and equipment purchases n - Oversees all daily, weekly, monthly scheduling across the district n - Maintains, prioritizes and oversees grounds work orders n nOther duties as assigned n nWORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: nThe methods of performing the essential job duties require the following physical demands - Continuous standing and walking n - Frequent stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, sitting, walking, standing, hearing, talking, and seeing n - Frequent lifting and/or moving of equipment, supplies and furniture n - Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds n - Frequent pushing and pulling n - Work with various chemicals and follow Material Safety Data Sheet n - Work with personal protective equipment in dealing with body fluids n - Working outside during inclement weather n n n All Employees of Saint Cloud School District 742 are responsible to support District goals, to work collaboratively and respectfully with diverse populations of staff, students and parents and to model and promote a welcoming working and learning environment.
