Kids Company Assistants/Aides

- Position Type: Community Education - Date Posted: 4/2/2024 - Location: Albany Area Schools - Date Available: 06/01/2024 - Closing Date: Open Until Filled Albany Area Schools Albany & Avon Elementary School Kids Company Child Care Assistant/Aide Preschool & Kindergarten-5th Grade Position Purpose: The Kids Company Child Care Assistant and Aide works closely with the Kids Company Site Leader to ensure a safe, caring, and positive child care environment for all participants. Essential Functions: - Provide daily supervision, interaction, and behavior management for varying groups of children. - Work cooperatively with all Kids Company staff to plan, implement, and evaluate program activities. - Supervise and engage children at all times. - Other duties as assigned. Equipment: May use standard office equipment such as copy machine and telephone. Travel Requirements: Travel between district buildings and within the community may be required depending on schedule/site assignment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships with others, including colleagues, staff, volunteers, students, and parents. - Organizational and time management skills. - Ability to creatively problem-solve job related issues. - Teamwork mentality. - Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees, and others. - Ability to adapt to and program for ever-changing community needs. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards: Ability to lift 15 pounds. Qualifications Profile: Experience working with youth in a supervisory capacity required. Salary & Benefits: Per AESP Master Agreement Assistant Starting Wage: $11.47-$14.05/hour based on experience * Note: Per AESP MOU - Employees who hold another position within the AESP union will be compensated at 85% of their regular hourly wage while working within the Kids Company program. Aide Starting Wage: $10.90-$12.33/hour based on experience Schedule: Before and After School: Between 6:30-8:00 am After School Hours: Between 2:45-5:30 pm Preschool Camp Hours Between 8:00 am - 3:00 pm Summer Hours: 6:30 am - 5:45 pm Substitute Positions Available *Schedule may vary based on district calendar and program needs.
