Job Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for AcqDemo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as Senior Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Application Developer supporting the Army Shared Services Center (SSC) mission of mission of sustaining the Army's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Job Description - Serves as an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Application Developer supporting Army Shared Services Center (SSC) mission of supporting the Army's ERP systems as an ABAP Developer on the Global Combat Support System - Army GCSS-Army. - Liaison with the functional teams and customers to ensure system requirements align with current processes and procedures in place and deadlines and priorities are clear, documented, and delivered within the Logistics Modernization Program systems. - Develops clear and consistent documentation and procedures of all SAP core ECC ABAP, BOBJ, JAVA, PI, and Portal development activities - Review the functional specs written by the functional teams and provide time estimates and development feasibility as well as execute the programming needed, test it, and document it into technical specifications. - Build and implement testing plans and procedures for new or existing SAP development components (including testing of service pack upgrades). - Perform complex functional and technical troubleshooting to resolve production and performance support issues. - Develop and extend SAP logical and physical data models for design. - Perform technical SAP system configuration when needed. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02). Specialized experience is defined as: 1) System Applications and Products (SAP) BI/BW Developer and recognized authority responsible for broad projects/programs in the area of BI/BW reporting for large-scale SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations; 2) Developing, evaluating, designing, and deploying BI/BW objects and reports to support customer functional requirements deployed on System Applications and Products (SAP) based systems; 3) Coordinating with BASIS, Portal, and database teams to ensure adequate capacity planning for SAP BI/BW data, reporting, and response time that meets customer service level agreement (SLA) requirements and supports all phases of the SDLC (i.e. development, testing, training, data load, go-live, and capabilities support/sustainment); AND 4) Resolving system issues within the SAP BI/BW subsystem of SAP applications. AND Specialized experience includes, or was supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving routine and non-routine problems, questions, or complaints; developing and maintaining strong, mutually supportive working relationships with customers; conducting evaluation of support to determine quality of services and customer satisfaction, and recommending procedural changes based on customer need or changes in policy and/or regulation; (3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information; and (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate. Education cannot be substituted for experience.
