**Overview****IT Security Intern Position Summary**Join our team as an IT Security Intern, where you will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of dynamic and critical cybersecurity initiatives. This role will contribute to our ongoing projects, but also to tailor the experience according to your interests and career aspirations. You will work on selected projects that align with both the organization's priorities and your personal learning goals in the field of information security and identity and access management (IAM). **This position will be located in Elk River, MN. It will be working onsite, 40 hours/week.****Responsibilities****IT Security Intern Duties and Responsibilities****Project Selection and Management**:- Collaborate with the team to select projects that match your skills and interests, from a pool of important yet unaddressed initiatives.- Potential projects include SSO configurations, NTLM evaluation and remediation, iTAR compliance, and Intune configuration.**Research and Development**:- Depending on your focus, you might explore areas such as the effectiveness of different Password Locker solutions, broader applications of MFA authentication integrations, or the transition to a Passwordless environment.**Certification and Compliance Assistance**:- Participate in managing IT security certifications and compliance projects, gaining insight into industry standards and regulations.**Collaborative Learning and Networking**:- Engage in security operations meetings with teams such as the Arctic Wolf, benefiting from professional networking.- Receive mentorship from experienced IT professionals and contribute to a variety of security projects based on your learning objectives.- Work alongside experienced professionals to address security issues via the use and configuration of security control systems.- Exposure to leading security tools.**Qualifications****IT Security Intern Qualifications**- Enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.- A foundational understanding of IT security principles.- A keen interest in learning and tackling challenges in IT security.- Strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset.- Honest communication skills, both written and verbal.- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.**What to Expect from an Internship with Cretex Companies?**Each summer, we are excited to offer interns countless opportunities to network, learn more about the Cretex family of businesses, and have fun!
