- Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/ Maintenance General - Date Posted: 4/9/2024 - Location: Early Childhood Center - Date Available: 05/15/2024 - Closing Date: Open Until Filled Albany Area Schools Early Learning Center Head Building Maintenance Monday - Friday (8 hrs/day) & Some Weekends Position Purpose: This position will work with the Director of Building Maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and HVAC maintenance and repair needs. Essential Job Functions: - Collaborates and works with the Building Principal and the Building Maintenance Supervisor regarding recommendations on major repair, renovation, and/or building needs - Coordinates, monitors, and makes assignments to building custodial staff - Coordinates and assists with the set up and take down of equipment needed for building activities and events - Monitors and implements building security procedures - Assists with sanitizing and cleaning restrooms and classrooms Additional Duties: - Perform any other related duties as assigned Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of Building Maintenance System operations - Ability to perform general preventative maintenance and service within the building to assure mechanical equipment, energy management, boiler, lighting, and fire/security equipment systems are operating properly - Ability to operate the heating and cooling equipment within the building - Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals - Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others - Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work - Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required - Effective writing and verbal communication skills Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards: Works in and around construction sites, may be exposed to air borne contaminants, irregular and unpredictable hours depending upon weather conditions, building needs, etc. Qualifications Profile: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
