LSSMN is the largest professional provider of Guardianship and Conservatorship in the state of Minnesota! As a Guardian you will carry out the duties of court appointed guardian/conservator as set forth in MN Statutes; provide financial management, and/or ensure care for vulnerable adults in the Guardianship Options Program. A guardian will carry a caseload of 35-42 individuals that typically covers a geographic region of the state. As a Guardian, you will: Petition and/or appear in court to be appointed guardian & carry out the duties of the guardian Supervise and monitor client personal and health care. This can include authorizing medical (including surgical and medications), therapy, treatment, support, vocational, and other services, sign legal documents (consents, admissions, etc.), discuss and sign resuscitation or non-resuscitation orders, work as a member of support team, ensure appropriate living environment and services, visit clients at least monthly, etc. Advocates for individuals for least restrictive life choices that enable them to live full and abundant lives. In some instances, Guardians may provide substitute decision-making regarding medical emergencies for clients and other sudden changes in client situations such as damage to or loss of housing, legal action against the client, or loss of income to the client. Working with individuals and families in the development and service delivery of supported decision-making. Conservators are responsible for the financial management and oversight of individuals assigned to them. Secure and oversee financial assets/ accounts including checking, savings, CDs, stocks, and other investments. Be on-call for client emergencies (some are 24/7 through pager or answering service; some provide home and cell numbers; some are on-call on rotational basis). The successful candidate must be cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study and have a drivers' license; a Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) is required.
