Qualified candidates will demonstrate commitment to creating a culturally responsive curriculum and environments where students from our diverse community will thrive. - Teach a wide range of nursing courses across the curriculum. - Facilitate student learning through mentoring and engaging with students in both lab and clinical settings individualizing learning strategies in support of our students. - Collaborate with colleagues and students, cultivating an inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive learning environment. - Design and revise the nursing curriculum through an equity-minded, student-centered, antiracist lens. - Ensures the course content and teaching resources are inclusive and designed to encompass students enrolled in our Practical Nursing program eliminating barriers and creating a culturally responsive pedagogy. - Engage in college committees and activities driven to ensure a culturally responsive culture. - Provide holistic support designed to foster student success and the development of students' engagement in lifelong learning. - Support continuous improvement efforts utilizing assessment data to bolster accreditation efforts. Including learning and assessment to improve student learning and close equity gaps and institutional performance gaps. Required Qualifications: Must meet minimum qualifications for faculty credentialing in Practical Nursing. Please refer to the MN State Credentialing Website at: http://www.minnstate.edu/system/asa/academicaffairs/cfc/index.html Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree in nursing or a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing if the graduate degree is not in Nursing. - A nursing program director must hold a graduate degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty. Occupational Experience Requirement - Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level. - As a registered nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach. Recency Requirement One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Professional Requirement - Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota. - Other Requirement: Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments. Other Requirements: All Nursing faculty must meet the requirements as determined by clinical sites and/or facilities. This may include, but is not limited to, drug and/or alcohol testing. Failure to meet the clinical sites' and/or facilities' requirements may result in termination during the probationary period.
