TYPE OF POSITION: Hourly Hours may vary based on program needs REPORTS TO: Director of EL/Cultural Programs, Building Principals, immediate supervisor SUPERVISION: None QUALIFICATIONS: Required High School Diploma or G.E.D. Diploma Highly Qualified status - HQ status as defined by one of the following standards: 60 semester college credits with a G.P.A. of 2.0 or higher ParaPro exam (passing score of 460 or higher, ) Portfolio (Para elink completion of modules with accompanying portfolio documenting cmpetencies, ) Preferred Similar job-related experience Bilingual POSITION SUMMARY: Under direction of the building administrator and the direct day to day supervision of the EL Classroom teacher(s), the EL/ESL Paraeducator provides instructional support to students needing assistance with English as a Second Language. This includes helping students with English concepts and skills and especially in their acquisition to function meaningfully in mainstream classes.
