Opportunity Goal: The VIP Coordinator oversees on-site VIP panels, encompassing tasks such as set up and clean up, presenting MADD basics to an audience of impaired driving offenders, introducing victim and survivor speakers, and ensuring the proper collection and processing of panel fees. Service Impact: As a VIP Impact Panel Coordinator, you play a crucial role in providing a safe space for victims and survivors to share their stories and will contribute directly to fostering a safer community moving forward by educating individuals who have faced substance-impaired driving offenses about the dangers and lasting consequences of impaired driving. Key Responsibilities - Manage on-site VIP Panel - Oversee on-site VIP panel operations including registration, setup, and cleanup. - Assist participants, staff, and volunteers with sign-in procedures. - Verify identification for both pre-registered and walk-in participants. - Collect and process registration fees, ensuring proper deposit. - Maintain clear and legible documentation. - Address volunteer and participant inquiries. - VIP Panel Facilitation - Deliver presentations prior to speakers and introduce them during events. - Coordinate with MADD staff to secure necessary materials, ensuring the use of updated products. Skills Match - Passion for the cause. A genuine interest in the subject matter and enthusiasm for contributing to the success of MADD’s mission and vision. - Conflict Resolution. Ability to handle potentially challenging situations diplomatically, making decisions like asking attendees to leave with tact and professionalism and ensuring a positive and constructive atmosphere during volunteer sessions. - Non-judgmental Approach. Ability to maintain a non-judgmental and unbiased attitude when working with people of diverse backgrounds, such as those with possible felonies and other driving-related offenses. - Team Collaboration. Ability to work collaboratively with staff and team of volunteers. - Tech Savvy. Comfortable with technology, such as PowerPoint and other software or have a willingness to learn. - Time Management. Efficient time management skills to adhere to schedules to ensure panels run smoothly. - Public Speaking. Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information in front of an audience. - Professionalism. Maintain a professional demeanor and represent the organization positively. Uphold ethical standards and confidentiality when necessary. Other Requirements - Background Check - VIP Coordinators cannot have a DUI/DWI, a state equivalent offense, or felony of any kind. Other charges will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Training Provided - Virtual MADD Volunteer Orientation - VIP Walk Thru - Completion of Online VIP - Shadow Staff x1 & Co-facilitate Panel x1 - Yearly Refresher Training - Optional practice sessions with staff. Reports to: MADD Upper Midwest Programs Team Time Commitment: 1.5 - 2 hours per panel. Prefer 1-3 panels/month. Must be able to commit at least 4 panels a year.
