Dietary Cook/Housekeeper Diocese of St. Cloud Chancery and Speltz House St. Cloud, Minnesota Full-Time Job Summary The Chancery of the Diocese of St. Cloud is the location of the office of the Bishop and hosts a number of meetings throughout the year. The Speltz House is a community of retired priests of the Diocese of St. Cloud. In keeping with our organization’s tradition, we seek to enhance the quality of life and holistic growth of older persons by providing high quality service in a cheerful, timely manner and by communication, coordinating, and cooperating with others to attain goals. The main responsibility is to provide nourishing food at the noon meal to residents and guests of the Speltz House and during special occasions and meetings at the Chancery under sanitary conditions as directed and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsible for the purchase of food items, preparation of food, serving food, and the cleanup dishes, appliances, etc. Also responsible for some cleaning in both buildings. Description of Job Duties - Food Preparation - Plan menus coordinating special dietary needs. - Purchase all groceries for food preparation. - Prepare, serve, and clean up daily noon lunches for the residents of Speltz House Monday through Friday and as needed for special occasions at the Chancery that are within dietary needs and are tasty and appealing. - Prepare special luncheons as they arise in the community. - Plan, prepare and serve special occasion luncheons as they arise. - Housekeeping - Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy kitchen. - Clean and maintain the cleanliness of kitchen area including cleaning of freezer, stoves and refrigerators. - Clean the Bishop’s residence bi-weekly. - Responsible for all kitchen laundry and table linens at Chancery and Speltz House. - Clean offices and bathrooms (vacuum, scrub, dust, etc.) weekly at the Chancery. - Take care of plants—water, transplant, etc. - Clean guesthouse as needed. - Clean and dust China cabinets on second floor dining room in Chancery yearly. - Remain flexible with changes as needed. - Other Duties as Assigned Physical Effort: Stairs; push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less; ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. Working Conditions: Kitchen, serving areas and off location as needed. Periodic travel is required. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Food Serve Safe certification preferred. Job Related Experience: Previous experience of up to one (1) year in food preparation and serving required.
