Other specialized services our welders provide include:+ Non-seg and cable bus installation and maintenance+ Online/on apparatus silver plating+ Specialty welding+ 24/7 emergency services for power utilities.**Primary Objective of Position:**This position will be responsible for the development of electrical diagrams, layouts, and detailed drawings of Isolated Phase Bus, Segregated and Non-Segregated Bus, etc. This position uses advanced knowledge of electrical systems, engineering components, and design to deliver high quality, custom parts for clients. Capability to rely on intellect to make independent choices regarding design elements. Collaborate with project management, technical, and fabrication teams in any design and modification development and analysis of defined power plant specialty components, taking advantage of the most efficient methods, time, material and manpower for the layout, design, fabrication, assembly and installation of products. Responsible for training, evaluation and development of additional drafting personnel to expand EBI's drafting skills, expertise and professionalism.+ Create customer drawings and bills of material for bus duct systems for new or replacement equipment designs and modify existing designs to create new equipment variations in coordination with applicable IEEE standards. Reverse engineering electrical design of obsolete equipment and systems is typical.+ Analyzes job site, client, and OEM information to design equipment that will comply with applicable IEEE, IEC, and NEMA standards. Utilizes advanced knowledge of bus duct systems, mathematics, science, and applicable standards to generate these designs.+ Researches and analyzes materials needed for each specific, new design to ensure proper amounts of material are being utilized.+ Ensures that components designed, and materials used will be compatible with the type of electrical system being repaired or installed.+ Determines and makes corrections and updates to drawings.+ Confers with any necessary third-party such as engineers, managers, accounting, procurement, and customers to discuss project. Analyzes their input to prepare and design drawings.+ Assist in the development of EBI concepts and modification based on clients' needs whether it is a retro fit, upgrade, or an equipment addition.+ Act as technical resource for product installation support for customers, project management, fabrication and field crews, assisting in addressing and resolving questions and problems.+ Participate on cross-functional teams to address and resolve fabrication, design, and quality problems, and ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of processes and methods.+ Works with the project management and fabrication teams to address and solve problems, and ensure projects are well executed and completed in a timely manner.+ Create, Submit & Review all EBI standard drawings as required. Including, but not limited to in-house and vendor fabricated items, as well as Air Pressurization drawings. Ensures each EBI standard drawing has a part number.+ Manages the EBI Standard Parts project.+ Responsible for all drawings, specifications, blueprint management, and quality assurance of each. Comply with all company and industry quality standards and safety regulations.+ Organizes required drawing review meetings as needed for fabrication (fab duration, BOM, concept and/or detailed drawings)+ Responsible for collecting and submitting the fabrication durations to the estimating team.+ Responsible for submitting shop and work order forms to the fabrication team.+ Responsible for the final collection and audit of the completed fabrication forms and submission to Estimating.+ Schedule and conduct the closeout meeting for each fabrication project.+ Backup support for procurement activities on fabricated items+ Create and submit as-built drawings for clients as needed for project closeout.+ Assists with interpretation of specifications, blueprints, work packages and procedures.+ Maintains and manages all Certified for Construction drawings electronically and hard copy as required to ensure security and ease of access/reference. Ensures that there are PDF versions of all CAD files.+ Verifies all drawings are in their correct folders and updates any missing drawings. Organizes drawing folders as necessary to maintain drawing records accurately.+ Research and develop new drafting processes and procedures to align with EBI's continuous improvement efforts.1. **Project Support** -Assist proposal development as assigned, including but not limited to site and tech rep visits. Participate in project planning, close-out and lessons learned initiatives as apparent or assigned. Responsible for participating in client and project meetings and for representing EBI in a professional manner while looking out for the best interest of the company.1. **Materials and Supplies** **-** Assist with identifying all supplies, materials, consumables and parts necessary for fabrication support. Assist with identifying the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.2. **Emergent Availability** - This position requires intermittent availability during weekends, evenings, and early mornings for emergency projects. This does not restrict the use of their time off from work and will only be required to report to work when emergency jobs are prevalent.3. **Process Improvement -** Supports the effort of company's quality management system ISO 90012015 and process improvement by recommending methods, equipment, techniques and other changes to improve welding operations. Supports the total quality and continuous improvement initiatives by generating work instructions and identifying any equipment or tooling needs. Is proactive in documentation and control of processes.4. **Apparent or Assigned** - Performs any other work as apparent or assigned.**Qualifications for Entry:**+ Current driver's license without restrictions+ Ability to travel as needed for position.+ Ability to gain unescorted access to nuclear power plants.+ Minimum 5 years advanced knowledge in the electrical bus duct construction and maintenance industry+ Minimum 5 years' experience and proficient in use of design software; AutoCAD and Inventor programs or comparable 3D design software as applicable to construction and maintenance industry in electrical bus duct systems.+ Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Electrical systems, Design, or related field+ Blueprint reading; customer and civil drawings, transformers, switchgear, generator, PCC building arrangements, and MCC.+ Basic electrical design, i.e., voltages/amperes and the effects on metal enclosures structurally.+ Advanced experience in mechanical design, i.e. assembly design, generation of flat drawings, copper bus bar design.+ Advanced working knowledge of ANSI/IEEE/NEMA/UL/IEC Standards.+ Coordination with customer issues, shop schedules, and production issues.+ Demonstrative ability to write processes and procedures.+ Strong computer literacy+ Physical ability to independently lift, carry or maneuver up to 50 pounds.+ Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with fellow employees.+ Demonstrative ability to work in a cooperative and team-oriented environment.**Training for Effective Performance:**+ Demonstrated ability to work with the project management and fabrication team to achieve department and company goals.+ Demonstrated ability to design IPB and Non-Seg system improvements.+ Demonstrated ability to meet bid schedules.+ Demonstrated ability to be involved in process and product improvements.+ Thorough knowledge of product line and quality commitment.+ General knowledge of quality system: policies, procedures, work instructions and how they relate to position description and the company.+ Demonstrative ability to use good communication and organizational skills in order to insure a high CSL (customer service level).DepartmentOfficeEmployment TypeFull TimeMinimum ExperienceMid-level
