Our 54-bed residential facility has been designed to provide Substance Use Disorder and Co-Occurring services to men and women over 18 years of age. In this role you will provide counseling services to clients experiencing substance use challenges. This is a FT position, working days, Monday thru Friday. Responsibilities include: - Maintain knowledge of and compliance with our 245G Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Program Policy and Procedure Manual. - Ensure compliance with Department of Human Services (DHS) 245G Statutes including timely documentation completion, clinical thoroughness and accurate billing for services provided. Conduct chart audits as requested. - Understand the Grievance Policy to assist clients in navigating the process to resolve grievances at the lowest level in a timely manner and document accordingly. - Maintain knowledge of and apply American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria. Appropriately diagnose clients using the DSM – 5. - Provide screening and assessment through SUD Evaluations/Assessments and required documentation. Provide intake and orientation to programming and required documentation. - In conjunction with the client, create and monitor an individualized treatment plan based on client’s needs, language, reading skills, cultural background and strengths. Conduct counseling sessions in alignment with treatment plan goals, updating based upon ongoing assessment of client’s needs. - Provide individual and group counseling to help clients identify and address needs related to substance use and develop strategies to avoid harmful substance use after discharge and to help the client obtain the services necessary to establish a lifestyle free of the harmful effects of substance use disorder. Create a safe, therapeutic environment. Manage group dynamics, implement curriculum through teaching/lecturing, and hold clients accountable to program expectations. - Implement approved SUD Group Curriculum. - Ensure fully complete, 245G compliant group sign in sheets. Turn in to Site Supervisor monthly. - Conduct family programming with clients and their family/supportive person(s) of choice, including in group therapy setting and individual family sessions. - Provide treatment coordination services by assisting with coordination and follow up with family and other providers addressing client needs concurrently including, but not limited to - family, partners, referents, medical professionals, other SUD services, mental health professionals, social services, housing/economic resources, prenatal care, life advocacy skills disease management, education services, and community supports. - Provide crisis intervention to clients by assisting clients in emergent situations through counseling and providing referrals/resources. - Provide client education strategies to avoid inappropriate substance use and health problems related to substance use and the necessary lifestyle changes to regain and maintain health. Assist client to integrate gains made during treatment into daily living and to reduce the client's reliance on a staff member for support as progress is made. - Coordinate referrals and ensure client engagement to appropriate ASAM level of care and other needed services/resources. - Participate in consultation with other professionals by attending Weekly SUD Case Consultation. Present client cases monthly, implement feedback into client’s treatment plan and document accordingly. - Address co-occurring disorders of clients, including client education on symptoms of mental illness, the possibility of comorbidity, and the need for continued medication compliance while recovering from substance use disorder. - Re-engage clients who have discontinued services unexpectedly. - Complete drug screens with clients based on clinical necessity. Therapeutically address drug screen results with clients. - Maintain the integrity of the SUD Program Structure including the need for weekly SUD Individual Sessions as part of ASAM Levels of Care. - Participate in scheduled individual clinical supervision meetings with supervisor. - Assist with training of professional program staff and provide supervision to assigned interns as requested. - Uphold the highest level of moral and ethical standards. - Maintain and promote a positive, safe, harmonious, productive and challenging work environment. - Safeguard personally identifiable health information in accordance with duties and current agency HIPAA notification statement and standards including 42CFR. Job_requirement : Requirements: - Licensed as a Drug & Alcohol counselor; License Must Be Active and Unrestricted - Ability to work with management in a positive and cooperative fashion. - Must be free of problematic substance use for at least the two years immediately preceding employment and must sign a statement attesting to that fact.
