Howmet remote work United States, Minnesota, Big Lake April 30, 2024 Responsibilities Position Summary: This position is responsible for providing CNC Programming leadership at the plant level, developing and overseeing the CNC programmers and NX Software, directly supervising a staff of CNC programmers, working closely with Program Management and all cross-functional departments to ensure the appropriate level of programming support is being provided, developing and leading continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives. Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop and oversee CNC Programmers and NX software in order to ensure the manufacture of quality parts at the most optimum costs, including assuring the proper methods are used to program accurately and efficiently. 2. Directly supervise a staff of CNC programmers, including participation in the following areas: hiring, work planning and direction, training and performance management. 3. Work closely with the Program Management Department to ensure they are provided accurate information on the technical aspects of all potential projects in order to assure appropriate bids on projects are submitted and that they are receiving adequate technical support on all projects. 4. Work closely with all cross-functional managers at the plant to assure the appropriate level of CNC Programming support is being provided in order to achieve the annual plant objectives. 5. Develop and lead cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives for the plant. 6. Support CNC Programmer team through conflict resolution and application of best practices. 7. Develop and test CNC Programming interface to Teamcenter 8. Investigate new NX functionality and help guide CNC Programmers regarding how to best apply new technology and more fully utilize the software capabilities. 9. Other duties as assigned. , Qualifications Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or related field. - Siemens NX CAM or Gibbs CAM programming in full 5-axis positioning and 3-axis contouring experience. - Minimum eight years relevant experience. - Five years' experience supervising a staff and managing a department. - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. - Broad knowledge base of machining processes, applications and technologies. - Experience utilizing an ERP system. - Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment. - Experience working within an ISO environment. - Effective written and verbal communication skills. - Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. - Demonstrated experience facilitating and leading change in an organization. - Experience optimizing machining processes and achieving on-going cost reductions. - Project leadership experience. - Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
