Job_description : OPPORTUNITY Central Minnesota Mental Health Center (CMMHC) is seeking a proven leader to serve as the Certified Peer Specialist and Peer Recovery Specialist to work in our St Cloud area. This position is responsible for providing individual peer support and group services for individuals , and individuals in recovery for substance use disorders, who receive services under the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). WHAT IS PEER SUPPORT? Non-clinical specialists provide support and hope to individuals by sharing their stories and serving as role models for wellness by offering the perspective of similar significant life experiences. Certified Peer Support Specialists have the lived experience of someone with a mental or chemical illness and, from that vantage point, help you discover your strengths and develop your own recovery goals. The specialist's personal story and path to recovery provide tools, skills, and information to share with those going through similar struggles. CMMHC’s Peer Recovery Specialists work with individual clients and groups. CMMHC’s Peer Specialists have lived experience with mental illness and/or substance use share stories about healing and recovery and offer hope to others. Clients must participate in another internal or external mental health service to utilize Peer Support Services. WHY CMMHC? DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work with providers, staff, and community towards improving both physical and mental health for individuals and families. Assess, refer, and monitor progress towards achieving goals in the overall health of individuals and families. Provide one-on-one peer support, and groups, focused on behavior changes to improve quality of life. Empower individuals with skills to engage in the management of both physical and mental health. Document interactions and interventions as directed. Follow all mandated reporter guidelines and always review suspicious concerns with supervisor. Job_requirement : WHAT YOU’LL NEED HS Diploma or GED Successful completion of the Department of Human Services approved Certified Peer Specialist Training and certification exam. Completion of the DHS’s Certified Recovery Specialist training and certification exams. Experience in wellness coaching. Demonstrated experience in providing superior customer service.
