Position Summary The Athletics Department at the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) invites applications for the part-time temporary position of Assistant Swimming Coach. This position is from mid September through February. Members of the athletic department are required to follow the philosophies and guidelines for women’s intercollegiate athletics consistent with the educational aims and objectives of CSB, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III. Responsibilities The assistant coach will work in a spirit of cooperation and be responsive to the advice and instructions from the head coach . The assistant coach will help in conducting training and swim meet experiences in such a manner that the welfare of each participant is always of paramount consideration. Coachin g Help p lan and organize high quality practice sessions . Be available for coaching at weekly practices. Be available for swim meets. Evaluate i ndividual and team performances . Help in p repar ation for the end of the year competitions. Identify , follow , and enforce CSB, MIAC , and NCAA rules and guidelines . Successfully co mplete NCAA Division III rules t est . Complete blood-borne p athogen and other safety training as required . Recruiting Coordinate recruiting efforts with head coach and admissions staff . Contact prospective student-athletes while implement ing technology. Schedule campus visi ts working in conjunction with a dmissions staff . Help build recruit lists . 3. Administrative D uties Help a rrange travel details such as transportation, lodging, and meals for swim meets . Help plan and attend yearly training trip. Care for and maintain eq uipment in the pool , uniforms, and warm-ups . Help p repare for , support , and attend the final banquet . Qualifications 1. Certific ation in First Aid/CPR/AED per NCAA rules . 2. Experience in coaching this sport preferred. 3. Competitive experience in this sport preferred. 3.
