The Asphalt Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the mechanical functionality of our asphalt plant by inspecting, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to ensure safe and efficient production. This individual focuses on the preventative and corrective maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems of the asphalt plant to ensure reliability, while supporting plant operations and following all safety requirements. Responsibilities: Below are the essential duties and responsibilities of the position; other duties may be assigned as directed: - Work closely with supervisor and plant operator for the daily task, maintenance, and responsibilities of the asphalt plant team - Safely and efficiently inspect, repair, diagnose and operate plant equipment for functionality purposes - Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of the mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems by following manufactures specifications and schedules - Troubleshoot asphalt plant operational/mechanical issues - Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders and parts list - Maintain a clean work area and care for company-owned tools and equipment - Communicate material and part needs to your supervisor - Keep plant area clean and organized - Ensure safe operation of machinery and compliance with all safety regulations Have a safety-focused mentality: Always ensure and promote a safe working environment - Enforce all company, OSHA and other applicable safety standards. - Report on any safety concerns to supervisor - Identify ways to increase efficiency at the plant and all activities related to the facility that comply with local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, a candidate would have the following: - Prior experience working around an asphalt plant or aggregate facility (5+ years preferred) - Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose equipment issues - Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems Experience with welding, fabrication and equipment repair Must have your own tools and toolbox (specialty tools owned by the company will be provided) Able to work independently while having a strong attention to detail Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and ensure accuracy Ability to work early mornings, evenings, nights and weekends Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including exposure to construction sites and potential physical demands. Ability to Lift up to 75 pounds Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus) OSHA 10- & 30-hour construction safety certifications are a plus.
