description Accountemps is looking for a detailed Accountant to join our fast paced client on a long-term temporary basis. The temporary Accountant assists with entering accounts payable and accounts receivable items, prepares financial reports, and reconciles customer and bank accounts in order to track the company’s profit, loss and tax liabilities. Duties: •Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department. •Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements. •Maintains the general ledger. •Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes monthly books. •Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks. •Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections. •Reconciles employee credit cards and expense reimbursement requests. •Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. •Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. •Other duties as assigned by supervisor requirements •Degree in Accounting or Finance •2+ years working in accounting related position •Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting •Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles •Ability to speak with customers, vendors and all levels within the organization •Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite and QuickBooks •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Ability to work in a fast pace, cooperative and team-oriented environment •Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
