Position Summary: Assembles rigging to lift and move equipment or material on job site by performing the following duties. Essential Job Functions - Install protective devices, such at cribbing and hay bales to prevent rolling/shifting or damage to items being unloaded. - Uses appropriate tools to lift, move and install steel components in accordance with the applicable plans, specifications codes and industry standards. - Inspect rigging and fall protection before each use. - Layout of items to be installed into erectable sequence and rigging of same for crane hoisting with a thorough knowledge and use of crane signals. - Gathers bolts and plates for walkway and assembles rails in place. - Attach rigging, slings, hooks, and other devices to lift material and guide loads. - Guide loads being lifted in order to prevent swinging by using hand signals. - Maintain material storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected. - Maintain tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in order. - Repair faulty equipment or systems. - Tightens nuts and bolts and digs in steps. - Assist with loading and unloading of hydraulic crane. - Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Other Qualifications: Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) preferred.
