Education Degree - Current MN teaching license - 5 years minimum experience working in diverse settings - Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in gifted education pedagogy and differentiation - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, families and school personnel in a diverse environment Preferred - Gifted and talented certification - Strong track record of student success, especially with diverse and/or gifted and talented learners - Experience in creating equitable learning environments for all students - Experience with creating enrichment opportunities for elementary students - Experience working in co-teaching - Experience working in a push-in model - Demonstrate knowledge of researched-based instructional strategies that engage all students - Previous leadership experience - Knowledge of the School Wide Enrichment Model POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Talent Development coordinator and the school-site Administrator, this position promotes School District 742’s mission and core values through providing Talent Development services including services for students identified high achieving students and students identified as Young Scholars. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Deliver targeted instruction to high achieving students and students identified as Young Scholars through push in and pull out instructional models - Facilitate the Young Scholars identification process - Collaborate with building staff to plan school wide enrichment opportunities for all students - Coordinate the delivery of school wide enrichment opportunities for all students - Collect and work collaboratively with teachers to analyze student and teacher data related to Talent Development programming and identification, including the administration of the Cognitive Abilities Test - Engage in learning opportunities specifically centered around educational equity, gifted education pedagogy and strategies for meeting the social and emotional needs of high achieving and high potential learners - Develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, students and parents and interact in a manner that models intercultural sensitivity and respect - Create opportunities for identified Young Scholars that promote access to advanced academics - Promote self-advocacy strategies for identified Young Scholars - Work with teachers to provide support in planning and delivering differentiated learning and assessment options - Facilitate district or building level professional development around identified Talent Development topics - Assist teachers in creating structures to support differentiation in the classroom - Model strategies that promote differentiation, high level thinking and access to rigorous curriculum - Provide resources to meet the academic and social and emotional needs of students for teachers, students and parents, when appropriate - Work positively toward meeting identified district and building improvement goals - Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL FACTORS: - Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, and seeing All Employees of Saint Cloud School District 742 are responsible to support District goals, to work collaboratively and respectfully with diverse populations of staff, students and parents and to model and promote a welcoming working and learning environment.
