REPORTS TO: Building Principals SUPERVISION: None QUALIFICATIONS: Required - Current Counseling license issued by the MN Department of Education - Master’s Degree in School Counseling Preferred - Two years’ experience working with students in a school setting - Experience with students of diverse backgrounds - Experience with mental health counseling - Experience with Alcohol and Drug counseling POSITION SUMMARY: To provide a comprehensive school counseling program focused on chemical dependency issues which includes academic, career, and personal social domains designed to fit the needs of each school’s unique population and characteristics. The school counselor provides programming which includes conflict resolution skills, coping and refusal skills, character education, diversity, and study skills.
