Role summary:The Senior Compensation Analyst is responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of compensation functions, developing and implementing programs, policies and procedures, analyzing and influencing company goals and competitive practices, monitoring trends and staying current on applicable legislation and government regulations to improve and sustain functional impact. Additionally, this position will actively contribute to overall success of HR team with a focus on Compensation, Systems, Benefits, and Compliance in related areas and supporting the team to ensure accurate systems and processes (with a focus on data flow analysis and process improvement). This position will demonstrate our core values, maintain confidentiality, collaborate, and work effectively and positively with the HR team and our internal clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities+ Research, analyze and maintain compensation systems and related processes to facilitate compensation management functions within company compensation strategy. Incumbent may have primary ownership, split-ownership, and/or backup responsibilities in a variety of related areas, including:+ Analyze and research compensation practices and market data. Conduct salary and labor market research per position; recommend, develop and implement compensation ranges and structure to ensure internal and external equity based on the company's compensation philosophy.+ Gather data from market-based compensation surveys; use data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends. Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.+ Complete salary surveys and submit survey data for compensation benchmarking.+ Create and develop compensation guidelines that provide for internal consistency. + Develop effective communication for managers when communicating compensation information to employees.+ Maintain and update a compensation database.+ Analyze job descriptions for compensation evaluation, FLSA classification and FLSA reclassification of existing positions as needed.+ Collaborate with managers to assess, prepare and maintain job descriptions for each position in the organization ensuring descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.+ Assess jobs and their respective requirements/duties to determine FLSA exempt/nonexempt classification and salary structure alignment.+ Evaluate and implement job analysis instruments and materials as needed.+ Prepare and present summary reports of position and compensation analysis information.+ Identify, report and manage metric and benchmarks to guide compensation decisions as well as to manage to corporate guidelines and policy.+ Audit and recommend modifications to salary structures and position classifications.+ Reviews and recommends compensation practice results to ensure equitable pay practices and impact on related personnel programs (e.g., recruiting, retention).+ Establish policies, programs and practices to ensure compliance requirements (e.g. wage and hour laws) and company directions/standards are followed. Proactively advise managers and impacted HR team members of changes as needed.+ Ensure exemptions, filings and record keeping requirements (incl. document retention) are met according to wage and hour laws as well as other applicable compliance requirements.+ Ensure company directions/standards are following in all compensation practices, to include review of wage adjustments for compliance with corporate guidelines.+ Administer/coordinate compensation-related functions.+ Coordinate the monthly merit and notification process.+ Establish wage recommendations for external/internal job offers beyond normal starting range guidelines.+ Assist with the analysis of staffing tables and impact of compensation decisions through the position budget management process.+ Assist with analyzing, developing and communicating career paths for employee growth and retention.+ Assist in on-going compensation-related projects and initiatives based on business goals and strategies.+ Advise the Anderson portfolio of companies on market pricing and ATS compensation policies/practices as requested.+ Partner with team members to design and maintain benefits systems and processes working within the company benefits strategy. + Collaborate on the research, analysis and recommendation of alternatives for health, wellness, and retirement plans and benefit providers as part of the company's total rewards strategy.+ Assist in on-going benefits-related projects and initiatives based on business goals and strategies.+ Assist with administration, communications, training, and/or compliance to support benefits functions.+ Assist in leading and/or participate in assigned benefits-related programs.+ Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices at all times.+ Partner with the HR team to optimize the utilization of the HR systems to most effectively align with business strategies and provide a competitive advantage - primarily serving as the compensation SME.
