Our therapies treat patients suffering from incontinence-related conditions with our sacral neuromodulation (SNM) systems InterStim™ II and InterStim™ Micro; and our percutaneous tibial neuromodulation (PTNM) system NURO™. This position is responsible for the analysis, specification, design, and verification of embedded software for implantable medical devices for Brain, Pain and Pelvic Health Therapies in a regulated environment using standard software engineering tools and methods. This position involves the verification test design, implementation, execution, and documentation to support software of the implantable devices. This position requires the understanding and following of regulations, procedures and guidelines for software developed in a medical device. A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. - Participate or lead a team of test engineers to fully develop, test and verify firmware on medical devices - Work across functions to determine dependencies, system requirements and design - Influence FW development and Verification to design better products - Develop understanding and perform testing involving electrical hardware, firmware, software, and/or telemetry interfaces. - Analyze data and author test reports while making recommendations based on the findings. - Author test plans, designs, and code; conduct tests. - Participate in the sign off and closure of the tasks involved in the formal development and test of medical device firmware. - Ensure understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work. Must Have: Minimum Requirements - Bachelors degree in a technically related field required Nice to Have - Working knowledge of developing software for medical devices/products, including familiarity with the processes and procedures governing that development. - Software development or verification experience on embedded systems (C, C++, TCL) - Effective communication both verbally and in written form. - Experience working across various teams (verification testing, systems engineering, human factors, management) in previous positions. - Experience decomposing software requirements and writing well defined, thorough test designs - Experience leading and working with cross-site teams in multiple geographies About Medtronic Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
