Join us for a career that changes lives. **A Day in the Life:** Neuromodulation Systems Integration and Test Engineering group is looking for a motivated engineer to work in a system engineering role within product development. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be a valuable member of the team performing the evaluation of systems that involve programming platforms and algorithms, complex electronic circuits, wireless communication, batteries and a mix of consumer and medical technologies. The position offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to make an impact on products that help people every day. **Position Responsibilities:** + Lead, define and perform system integration, characterization, verification, and validation activities ensuring the behavior of the system meets system requirement, user needs and intended use + Lead a team of engineers to achieve project milestones and objectives. Track team activities per schedule on a regular basis + Review requirements for implantable medical device systems and features that meet the expectations and uses of the customer, regulatory agencies, and the business + Part of the team that provides the evaluation and problem analysis of system issues across functional groups. This includes investigating and resolving system issues, making improvements to address customer feedback and requests, and leading testing activities. + Coach and mentor junior engineers + Documents tradeoffs, rationale, and potential solutions. + Participate in review of technical architecture activities for system definition, including requirement partitioning, establishing performance measures, and well defined interfaces. + Participate in Risk Analysis activities, such as FMEA, and Hazard Analysis activities for systems, features, and implementations with the intent to eliminate or mitigate the risks in the identified scenarios + Provide input to schedules, budgets, and resourcing plans for projects + Identifies and solves system issues both internally during development and post launch field issues. + Plan and host reviews to ensure cross functional input + Provides support to customers and clients for Neuromodulation systems. + Reviews technical literature and manuals. + Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that are applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high quality work. **Must Have: Minimum Requirements** + Bachelors degree required + Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience **Nice to Have** + Degree in System Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field. + Engineering MS degree preferred. + 2+ years of working with implantable medical systems + Experience in engineering biomedical systems + Understanding of combined hardware, software system architecture, demonstrated by either coursework or work in industry + Experience leading teams to achieve successful outcomes + Experience developing Verification and Validation strategy + Experience with Neuromodulation products and their clinical use + Experience in troubleshooting firmware and hardware issues using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal analyzers + Experience with automated test systems to assess system functionality, reliability, and stability + Experience with writing software and test scripts including Python, Groovy, Java, LabVIEW + Experience working with ISO and Quality System Regulation requirements + Experience in System Engineering discipline or use of system engineering methodologies + Experience with statistics, modeling, design of experiments and data analysis + Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma or related product development processes + Demonstrated excellent verbal and writing skills, including presenting + Experience working in cross-functional and team environments + Experience working in an FDA regulated and/or medical device environment **About Medtronic** Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
