Basic Function: The SAP Infrastructure Lead role will be expected to perform the duties and responsibilities of SAP Basis Administration of SAP Net Weaver ABAP and Java systems. This includes production and non-production systems within GBS Systems Delivery organization, which is responsible for supporting Production operations. The SAP Infrastructure Lead requires to work with various business partners, projects managers, functional analysts, system analysts, quality assurance and production support teams to deliver various initiatives supporting SAP applications. Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. This will include writing functional and technical solution design plans and documents for the requirements to be implemented. Apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - The primary responsibility of this role will be to work as hands-on administrator to maintain/support a global SAP environment including troubleshooting problems, escalating open issues, implementing solutions, monitoring of systems, prevention of outages, and optimize the system for maximum performance - Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems and risks to the environment. This may include working cross functionally with other technology teams, geographies and disciplines. - Responsible for developing and maintaining the technical details for SOPs (refresh, migrations, configuration, installs, etc.) and ensure are followed to maintain a viable system - Plan and participate into monthly, quarterly releases / infrastructure outages. Execute tasks per plan. - Provide technical expertise and direction to drive effective operations related to support activities. - Serve as liaison to vendor support/technical staff to escalate, analyze, and resolve issues. - As needed provide insight and demonstrated knowledge to influence various strategies including; - SAP Environment Planning including creation, refreshes, back-up, and recovery - SAP Roadmap outlining the timing for upgrades, service/enhancement packs, and implementation of new modules - Transport Management Strategy - Performance tuning /optimization - Work with other related technology teams displaying insight and knowledge to understand and influence technical direction and strategy. - Test any new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications. - Communicate progress of various initiatives to project stakeholders and management. - Ensure that all delivery artifacts are reviewed and are according to the standards and guidelines. - Ensure that SLAs are being met for services. - Will provide needed support for any production support services and/or issues as they arise. Job Qualifications: Education: Required: - Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field. - SAP BASIS certification Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology Experience: Minimum 7+ years broad Information Technology experience in: - Experience with SAP BASIS ABAP and JAVA - Experience administering SAP systems running on IBM AIX / DB2 - Experience administering SAP systems running on RHEL / Oracle - Demonstrated capability working with SAP administrative tools including Solution Manager - SAP system related issue troubleshooting and performance tuning - Excellent oral and written communication skills. - Ability to explain complex technical solutions and architecture strategies to non-technical resources - 5 years working experience in role of SAP Basis Administrator having demonstrated experience in supporting production operations, maintenance, and project implementations of SAP Net Weaver ABAP and JAVA systems. - Must have SAP support projects, upgrade and enhancement pack update experience. - Work experience in multiple SAP landscape, client copy, Data recovery across environments. - Exposure to New interface /data extracts techniques. - Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills with attention to details - Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment demonstrating strong teamwork and interpersonal skills - Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment - Good verbal and written communication skills and experience including presentations to senior management, peer groups and associates - Demonstrated project management and planning skills and experience - AWS, Azure working experience is a plus Required to work during Weekends and Non-business Hours.
