In a matrix environment, will consult with the NA-AC Managers and team members related to standard accounting reporting, system implementations, and process improvements. Basic Function This new and critical role of the Accounting Reporting Center of Excellence will be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial accounting and management reporting activities, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the information being presented. Regularly review reporting processes to ensure they are consistent across NA-AC and adhere to the Company accounting policies and audit requirements. Ensure that reporting compliance and best practices are continuously maintained. Assist with risk and control gap assessments and resolution. Maintain focus on continuous process improvement. This position is critical to the overall control environment. This position will be located at our office in Riverwoods, IL or Philadelphia, PA; remote work arrangements could also be considered for a successful candidate and will be part of the NA-AC Organization. The NA-AC organization focuses on building accounting expertise in a tower structure: Record to Report, Procure to Pay, and Order to Cash and provides support to the businesses of Wolters Kluwer North America in a standardized, harmonized, and high-quality manner. Essential Duties and responsibilities - Demonstrated ability to meet assigned deadlines and deliver on goals and objectives - Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial information in a complete, accurate, timely, and well-organized manner - Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work in ambiguous environments - Assist with the formulation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements and preparation of respective deliverables - Actively participate in monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting and review of financial reports processes with NA-AC and Divisional leaders - Participate and coordinate accounting or cross-functional team projects to identify and implement process enhancements and streamlining - Drive continuous improvement and simplification efforts in reporting, financial processes, and tools - Develop strong relationships with business partners through solid business acumen; respectfully challenge the status quo and offer solutions to resolve issues in an effective, cost-efficient manner - Assist with the implementation and improvement of automated systems - Assist in ensuring the internal control environment documentation is in place and is being followed - Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited procedures currently exist - Serve as NA-AC Tagetik support and liaison to Corporate Consolidations team - Constructively challenge the status quo to improve processes, reduce manual work efforts and improve the timeliness of resulting deliverables Job Qualifications - A minimum of 3 years of accounting and reporting experience; public accounting is a plus - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required - CPA/working towards the license preferred - Experience in financial reporting/consolidations with a large, multi-national company preferred - Experience with process standardization is a plus - Proficient knowledge of SAP and/or other major ERP systems preferred - Experience with financial reporting software; Tagetik is a plus - Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access); Visio is a plus - Technology savvy with demonstrated ability to learn systems and processes quickly - Possesses a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude - Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines - Clear interest and passion for challenging the status quo - Highly organized, detail-oriented approach to work; ability to maintain confidentiality - Ability to work independently and as a part of larger on-site and remote teams - Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment - Willingness to take the initiative and to follow through on projects - Must be proactive and recommend solutions when discussing problems Travel requirements 5%-10% - occasional visits for face-to-face meetings with the NA-AC Leadership. #LI-Remote
