The Security and Safety Officer’s main responsibilities include monitoring and protecting CentraCare patients, employees, guests and property, preserving the peace, preventing crime and detecting and detaining violators of the law. Daily tasks to include but not limited to: responding to hospital emergency codes, frequent patrol of parking lots in patrol squad, routine rounding on aggressive flagged patients or those at risk for security intervention, writing reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences, and liaison to orient responding law enforcement agencies. Qualifications: - Experience in security, policing, training in law enforcement or private security preferred - A valid Minnesota driver’s license and a driving record in good standing required - Must become certified in the use of the ASP expandable baton, handcuffing, NCI and X26 taser, as well as experience the effects of receiving a taser hit within 6 months of hire - A full set of fingerprints in accordance with Minnesota Statute 326.336 is required - Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required - Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or related field preferred CentraCare Health and Carris Health have made a commitment to diversity in its workforce.
