Position Summary Assists with daily operation and maintenance of the Gorecki Dining Center front of house operation. Assists culinary staff, as needed, or assigned. Works with the Student management team members as well as professional staff to ensure excellent customer service and attractive, safe service of food to our dining guests. Answers customer questions and may resolve some food/service complaints. Assists operation, maintenance, sanitation, and cleaning of dish room. Checks that the dish machine is filled, has proper levels of soap and rinse agents, sustains proper temperature, and is cleaned. Checks that all dishes, pans, silverware, glasses etc. are properly cleaned and returned to their areas. Shuts down and cleans dish machine and dish room. APPOINTMENT: Support Position, full time FTE .75 Responsibilities Welcomes and extends hospitality to all guests Orientates and supervises student(s), when necessary Reports absentees/problems to supervisor/manager Assemble/disassemble and clean/sanitize ice cream as required Open/operate/close dish room, cash register Reports equipment malfunctions to manager Is responsible for all aspects of appearance in the guest dining areas, beverage line and front counters of all food stations. Keeps floor in dining area free of food and debris Carries out extensive daily and deep cleaning of the dining room, dish room, dessert, beverage, and condiment areas on weekends and student breaks Restock supplies for beverage line, condiment area, Gluten Free and bagel/bread station and dining room. Update Purchase Coordinator concerning supply levels/need to order Assembles/disassembles and cleans dish machine, conveyor, carts, station diverters, and screens; and removes garbage and pig barrels as needed. Monitors sights/sounds of dish machine, proper wash/rinse temperature and proper levels of soap and rinsing agent. Replenishes supplies for dish room and reports any equipment problems to supervisor/manager. Assists student workers on removal of trash and dishes from carousel, loading the dish machine, sorting dishes, sorting silverware, and returning clean dishes to proper locations. Is responsible for proper order/timing of pot and pan washing. Washes and returns pots, pans, dishes, cups, glasses, silverware, etc. from bakery/retail, kitchen, and station areas, and catered events to proper area. Picks up any debris and squeegees dish room floor daily. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Attends in services and other meetings as required Observes and implements safety and sanitation procedures Performs other work-related duties as assigned. Is knowledgeable concerning food allergy awareness and service procedures Qualifications High school diploma required, 9-12 months related experience, or training, preferred Food Safety Certification is preferred. Ability to read, write and follow directions Good verbal and interpersonal skills Able to meet the physical demands of the position. Ability to occasionally lift and move minimum up to 40 lbs. with accommodation and tolerate temperature and humidity fluctuations and loud noise levels. Ability to stand for long periods of time and to operate dish machine. Leadership skills preferred. Ability to define and solve practical problems Able to work varied hours and days as needed Able to tolerate occasions of stress, both physical and mental Must be comfortable and pleasant in front of customers, even during stressful situations ADDITIONAL REQUISITES: 1.
