Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. is opening a Residential Treatment Center in Big Lake, MN around August, 2021. Be a part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team working in an inpatient setting providing treatment to patients experiencing substance use challenges. We are seeking a full-time RN for the Residential Treatment Center opening August, 2021. General hours for this position are: Monday - Friday: 40-45 hours per week Responsibilities: · Administering drugs, medications, treatments, inoculations, and tests as allowed by law. · Implementing verbal physician orders and authenticating in writing, within a reasonable time, and included in the patient record · Communicating with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists · Completing other tasks within the scope of registered nurses and the program services and procedures. · Oversees all aspects of the patient admission process, including: o Pre-screening of new patients for appropriateness for admission, including TB screening. o Obtaining physical assessment data and health history o Inventorying and caring for patients’ personal possessions. · Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, including transcribing and administering routine and prescribed medications in accordance with procedures established by the Medical Director. · Records patient observations and activities in patient records accurately and timely in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policy and procedure. · May be designated Charge Nurse for a shift, with oversight of LPNs or nursing assistants. · Screens and provides first response to clients obtaining health history, screening for TB and contagious disease, and screening accidents and medical complaints, e.g., cuts, earaches, sore throats, reported pain, etc., making referrals to appropriate levels of care when necessary. · Actively and compassionately interacts with patients to encourage engagement in treatment · Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying principles of medical asepsis and applying infection control techniques and universal precautions. · Provides patient education on health care, as assigned or appropriate. · Implements safety and emergency procedures during fire drills and other disaster procedures · Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings. · Follows all policies and procedures with regard to patient information protection, including alcohol drug patient confidentiality (42 CFR) and HIPAA (45 CFR). · Attends training as required by employer. · Maintains and demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on company policy and State and Federal guidelines. · Other duties as assigned.
