40 hrs/two weeks; primarily evenings (3-7:30pm) with flexibility to cover AM shifts as needed. JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for communication with waiting families, physicians and hospital staff. Functions as the primary contact for questions related to the patient locator system, responsible for maintenance of all educational and supportive materials, supplies and equipment, and assists in contacting appropriate in-house services for waiting persons. Works in collaboration with SCH volunteers to meet the needs of our waiting visitors and physicians and to promote a peaceful, healing and private waiting environment. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers. QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent required. EXPERIENCE Medical background preferred. Medical terminology strongly preferred. Basic computer skills preferred. Superb communication and interpersonal skills required.
