Location: Cold Spring, MN Supervisor: Jason Majchrzak Summary: The Project Estimator (Level I) is responsible for completing accurate surveys of customer and/or internally supplied documents to establish quantity of material and labor required for bids. Provides estimates and quantity surveys for a limited scope of product lines and building projects serviced by Coldspring. Duties: - Identifies and eliminates potential safety hazards in area - Supports all Continuous Improvement programs and company policies - Holds general knowledge of construction science as it relates to multiple project types - Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents - Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications and related documents - Computes costs by analyzing labor, material and time requirements - Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information - Presents prepared estimates and surveys for some product lines sold by Coldspring - Understands and uses Construction Science Institute (CSI) cost codes - Assembles schedule of values for use in application for payment - Utilizes Plan Swift estimating module for take-off surveys - Provides technical advice to sales staff - Provides assistance to sales staff including site visits and pre bid conferences - Attends meetings as required - Uses AutoCad proficiently - Handles contract changes internally and externally - Formulates cost breakdowns and options for proposed project - Analyzes pre-contract work to match estimate - Communicates effectively with all levels of employees, customers, vendors and visitors - Travel may be required Physical Requirements: - Stands and sits regularly - Uses computer regularly and writing and filing is required Additional Requirements: - High School diploma with post-secondary training or experience in Business - Minimum of three years experience in drafting stone products or a combination of three years work experience and Technical College Status: - This is a full time, salaried position; Mon - Fri. 8AM – 5PM If assistance is needed in completing this application, please call Andrea Ricke-Deopere in Human Resources at (320) 685-4682.
