GENERAL SUMMARY The program manager is responsible for project planning and execution throughout the organization, which includes managing previously approved new product development projects through cross-functional areas and working with engineering and operations to deliver projects that meet requirements on time and on budget. The role also includes working with sales, product management, and marketing to achieve revenue and customer satisfaction goals. The program manager facilitates product development activities by implementing project plans and helping manage product activities. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) Facilitate product development activity by leading cross-functional teams Execute the new product development/product enhancement process including establishing timelines for key milestone accomplishment Provide leadership and/or support to the design, development and implementation of new and enhanced products Lead the product development execution team including coordination with the Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Planning, and Operations departments to determine product development path Communicate regularly to leadership and product management on project status Ensure project stays within the scope as defined by product management Manage resources appropriately to keep the project focused, on task, and on schedule Maintain strict control on project time management to ensure every project completes on schedule Implement countermeasures and mitigation plans to work around problems and delays in order to keep project on schedule Assist product manager with preparation of training materials on products EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required: Bachelor degree in Engineering, Marketing and Business or similar Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing or project management Minimum of 3 years of experience managing projects and timelines and coordinating cross-department activities to achieve a common goal Experience presenting data across various audiences Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills Ability to facilitate change Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Preferred: Flow control industry experience, with a strong preference to valves Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Master s Degree in Engineering or MBA Project management tool experience Experience working with financial planning and strategy, marketing concepts, positioning, people management, territory management, sales planning, competitive analysis, understanding the customer, product development, client relationships, creative services. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Domestic and international travel may be required, up to 10%.
