Responsibilities As a Principal Risk Associate, you will: Advise and consult with risk and business area teams to help develop well-designed products, practices, and processes Establish and maintain positive working relationships with product owners, process managers, compliance advisors, legal counsel, auditors, and other risk managers Manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines, independently and with supervision and support Participate in and help manage work between multiple areas, engaging in various work streams Be a part of delivering on our well-managed agenda Oversee risk event remediation impacting customers stemming from process breakdowns or other problems, helping develop permanent corrective actions Support second line of defense assurance reviews, internal audits, and regulatory exams General Qualifications Successful Risk Managers in our culture are: Innovative, adaptive, and inclusive Strong verbal and written communicators Creative, outside-the-box thinkers who have a customer-backed problem-solving approach Able to assist on multiple workstreams and tasks simultaneously Collaborative, team players with the ability to navigate organizations Passionate about continuously learning Basic Qualifications High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification At least 1 year of experience in risk management, product management, financial services, or technology Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in risk management, financial services, technology, or product management Professional certifications (i.e., Business Process Management certification, Lean or Green Belt Certification CFE, CRM, CIA, etc.) At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
