FREE NURSING ASSISTANT TRAINING COURSE INCLUDES PAID CLASS TIME Certified Nursing Assistants at CentraCare help provide care for patients and residents of long-term care facilities. To become a Certified Nursing Assistant in a long-term care facility, you are required to complete a state-approved education program and pass the Minnesota State Exam. Once you complete the training and pass the state exam, you can start in a CNA role. CentraCare will cover the cost of the exam, course training, and pay you for your time while in the class. *This course is online and in-person* Example of commitment for the Nursing Assistant in Training Course: - Initial onboarding/kick-off meeting ( 2 hours ) located at South Point in south St. Cloud. - 2 weeks to complete online modules to prepare for an initial exam (modules are required and will take ~ 35 hours to complete ). - Proctored Exam will take place at South Point in south St. Cloud, exactly 2 weeks after the initial on-boarding/kick-off meeting. - If Exam is passed, new hire ( regardless of whether they will work in St Cloud, Melrose, Sauk Centre, Long Prairie or Monticello ) will attend skills and clinicals in either MELROSE or ST.CLOUD (it alternates monthly between those two locations). - There will be 3 or 4 SKILLS DAYS ( 24 hours total ) followed by 2 CLINICAL DAYS ( 16 hours total ). Skills days can be three 8 hours days or two 8 hour days and two 4 hour days. Both clinical days will be 8 hours long. - Once the skills and clinical days are done, there will be a test administered by the State of MN (location/date/time determined by the state). - After the state test has been completed/passed, the new hire can begin employment as a Nursing Assistant-Certified! - From the initial kick-off meeting to when the state test is taken is approximately one month of commitment . - CentraCare will cover the cost of the exam, course training and pay you for your time while in class! Class/Pre-Employment Requirements: The interview for this program may include a pre-employment screening and a conversation about your interest in this job and training opportunity. Candidates who are interviewed and selected for this position will receive a conditional job offer and will need to successfully complete the pre-employment health screen, Tuberculosis Skin Test and criminal background check prior to beginning the program. If the previous requirements are successfully completed, candidates will receive their final employment schedule.
